A Hidden Tarot Legacy Across Generations

Grandmother Agustina

Many have asked me where I learned to read the Tarot, and until now, I have held this sacred truth close to my heart, considering it a profound spiritual gift.

Today, at the gentle urging of Spirit, I open this hidden chapter and speak of someone I never met in the physical realm: my maternal grandmother, Agustina de León y Urra de García. She and I shared the same divine gifts, woven into our souls across generations.

Grandmother Agustina was a spiritual healer and a reader of cards, yet her deepest joy lay in selfless service—especially to women and their children who carried heavy burdens. She offered comfort, guidance, and healing light to those who crossed her path.

When I began my own spiritual journey, I had no knowledge that my grandmother had walked this same sacred road, or that the Tarot was one of the luminous tools we both used to fulfill our soul’s calling: to guide, uplift, and help humanity remember its divine essence.

My mother’s family never spoke of these matters; they were shrouded in silence, almost forbidden—not because the gift itself was wrong, but because painful misunderstandings arose surrounding Grandmother’s life and passing. These shadows lingered, creating a veil of fear around our shared abilities.

As a healer myself, I have come to understand the deeper truth of her transition. Grandmother died, in part, because she did not know she could heal without physical touch. She absorbed the dense, negative energies of her patients with pure love, taking them into her own field, yet she lacked the knowledge to cleanse and release them from her aura. Over time, this sacred burden accumulated until her physical vessel could no longer carry it.

This realization also illuminated why my mother so fiercely resisted this path for me. The memory of her own mother’s life and death filled her with protective fear, making her wary of the very gifts that had once shone so brightly in our lineage.

And so we come to the Tarot readings I offer today.

It was my grandmother Agustina who truly taught me—though not through words or lessons in the earthly sense. She guides me still. In moments of deep attunement, it is she who speaks through me. I become the quiet vessel; she becomes the voice.

To be utterly honest: I often know nothing of what flows forth in a reading. Grandmother takes gentle possession of the moment, and the consultation becomes a sacred dialogue between her luminous presence and the seeker’s soul.

Many times, clients have returned asking for clarification on something powerful that was shared. My answer remains the same, spoken with humility and wonder:

“It was not I who said those words. Listen again to the recording. The message is there, carried on her voice—for it is she who speaks, offering the guidance your soul called forth.”

In this way, the Tarot becomes more than cards; it becomes a bridge across time, a loving continuation of Grandmother’s mission, and a testament to the eternal thread of divine service that binds generations in light.

With deepest reverence and gratitude to Agustina, my eternal guide,

Rina
